Review of the Elyria High Class of 34 History Highlights
In September 1930 Elvira High marked her 100th birthday as the class of 34 began. New teachers arrived and the gym gained an electric score board. Sophomores saw a new gym floor, a melodrama, and school improvements. Junior year brought staffing changes, a Lorain game victory, and deaths of teachers Barth and a classmate Kenneth Mitchell. Senior year featured a new art teacher, a nine-period schedule, a Lake Erie League championship football team, and a school song. The period notes clubs, leaders, and athletic letter recipients among the class members.
