State lawmaker seeks 5 percent pay cut for Ohio officials
Ohio Rep. Terry Boose proposes a five percent salary reduction for all elected state officials including the governor and lawmakers. The bill would take effect only after the next term, and would remain in place until GDP grows 2.5 percent for two to three consecutive years. Boose, a Republican from the 58th district, cites economic recovery needs and compares cuts to layoffs in his district. The measure does not affect local officials or judges.
