Witness says Cleveland Communist Party segregated, white club run

Julia Brown a former FBI agent testified to HUAC that Cleveland Communist Party operated in the southeast ward as an all white Jim Crow club and forced her to join another city area. She claimed the party used civil rights rhetoric to enlist supporters during the Korean War and that party leaders resisted racial integration. She left the party in 1960 and now lives in Los Angeles.
