Elyria city council sponsors seven Vacation Church Schools this season opening June 1. Participating churches include First Methodist and First Church, West Side School, Lake Avenue Grade, Jones Chapel Second Methodist, Nat Rene church, Methecity vhuveh, and East Side school. Open to boys and girls aged from six to sixteen with instruction by trained leaders. Classes run Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 11:30 am.

Amherst council met Tuesday voting to have the city solicitor draft legislation for a general operating levy of one and a half mills to appear on the November ballot. Mayor Kine reported May income of 92.50 and 44 in state highway cases and fines. Two sewer ordinances were approved on one reading, including Hamilton Street sewer assessments and bonds of 1,772 with 2 percent interest and face value 1,655, plus another bond issue of 948 with 2 percent interest and face value 912. The group adjourned after bills.
