Avon Lake Bills Utilities $3000 For Clerk Office Services
Avon Lake officials issued a bill of more than 3000 dollars to the utilities department for clerical and other general fund supported services covering January 1 1968 to January 1 1969. Utilities director Robert Underhill said the charge strains the water department and noted prior warnings. The board plans to survey other Ohio utilities practices and will bill the city for future flushing of hydrants, with 487 hydrants in the city and about one million gallons of water used daily for flushing twice yearly.

Bids Sought for Four Wheel Drive Fire Fighting Outfit
Columbia Township trustees moved to advertise for bids on a four wheel drive grass fire fighting outfit for the volunteer department. Bids open July 8 in the township meeting room. Separate bids for a high pressure fog unit to mount on the outfit. Specifications were prepared by Trustee Dean Fitchens with help from the fire department committee. Council seeks legal ruling on Avon water contract
Avon Lake board of municipal utilities directs city solicitor Del Bates to obtain a legal ruling to clarify the water contract with Avon.
