Lorain growers set summer wage rates for juvenile and adult help
Lorain County fruit and vegetable growers approved standard wages for juvenile workers and adult harvest help at a meeting in Elyria. Rates include 30 to 50 cents an hour for youths, 60 cents for women, and 60 cents for greenhouse labor. Piece rate wages were also set for multiple picking tasks. Applications and registrations are available at Elyria and Lorain OSES offices for this summer hiring.
