Blessing of the Fleet draws dozens of classic cars to Lorain
Dozens of classic cars and a few motorcycles lined up for the Hungarian Reformed Church sixth annual Blessing of the Fleet in Lorain. Visiting pastors prayed over vehicles for driver safety as Greg Smith noted the event's 20 year tradition and growth with Styler's Car Club. Highlights included a 1959 Ford Edsel Daisy, a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, and a 1952 Chevrolet pickup revived after decades.

Avon hosts attorney general Yost and candidate Cillo night
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and GOP Lorain County prosecutor candidate Tony Cillo will speak at 5 p.m. June 13 at Knights of Columbus Father Ragan Hall Avon. Yost to discuss women’s sports immigration and other topics. Cillo, former Lorain County and AG office aide, challenges incumbent Democrat J D Tomlinson. Admission is 5 dollars. The event is part of a series of public outreach efforts by the Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office and FBI on fraud awareness for residents.

May 2 8:13 p.m. on State Route 2 a traffic stop yielded citations for no license and speeding. 8:57 p.m. on North Leavitt Road a traffic stop led to a driver’s arrest on an active warrant for contempt of court and transport to Lorain County Jail. May 3 1:11 a.m. on North Lake Street a traffic stop produced a citation for driving under suspension and arrest on an active warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense, sent to Lorain County Jail. 2:19 a.m. on State Route 58 a traffic stop resulted in arrest for contempt of court on the original failure to appear charge.
