Pettine defends Manziel amid fan incident and rehab focus
Browns coach Mike Pettine defended Johnny Manziel after a run in with a fan in Texas and dismissed talk of the player's future with the team. Pettine said he has no thoughts on Manziel's throwing a water bottle toward a harassing spectator and emphasized staying focused on his rehab and on Josh McCown atop the depth chart. He criticized outside reports about whether Cleveland has moved on from Manziel, calling such talk irresponsible.
