DWI Motorist in 100 MPH Lorain-Auto Chase
In Lorain a 26 year old West 37th Street driver sped over 100 mph on West Erie Avenue before police halted the seven mile pursuit near RT 62 and RT 611. The driver shielded by three passengers, including his three year old daughter, was later identified as a steelworker from National Tube Co. The crash involved another vehicle at Leavitt and Meister Roads, causing $2000 damage to the Poprock car.

Block Falls From Truck Crashes Into Car Near Rt 76
Mrs. Roy Sponge, 59, of 222 West 30th St, was driving near Rt 76 and 10 when a cement block fell from a truck and smashed through her windshield. She received treatment at St. Joseph Hospital for injuries. Whitby Ontario Boy Scouts received a carved totem pole that crossed the sea aboard the frigate M.H.L.S. Whitby.
