Collins Man Killed In Head-On Crash On Rt 113
A 44 year old Collins area man Fred Bartley was killed when his pickup collided head on with a stake truck owned by Cleveland Quarries Co on Rt 113 four and a half miles east of Milan. The other driver Leland G Moore 25 of Amherst sustained slight injuries. Bartley a Norwalk Truck Lines mechanic for 12 years died at a Berlin Heights physician office from a fractured skull. The crash occurred about 8 a m EST as Bartley attempted to pass on a grade. Both trucks damaged. Moore stood by at scene. Bartley born Norwalk lifelong resident. survived by wife Masias and a daughter Kay. He was active with Floral Lodge F and A M New London. Several siblings noted in the report.
