Clearview High School Tiles Promote Healthy Eating Message
CHS Art II students collaborated with local clay artist George Woideck and teacher Jean Jensen to create a 180 tile mural in the cafeteria. The project, funded by a Lorain County Community Foundation grant, blends education and health as students cast tiles from fresh produce, glaze them, and mount the artwork.

Lorain Public Library System launches its 38th Summer Reading Pro gram with a beach party from noon to 3 p.m. June 8 at Lakeview Park Lorain 1800 W Erie Ave. The event co sponsored by Lorain County Metro Parks features games face painting inflatables crafts and Construct a Saurus. Beginning June 10 sign up for reading records at libraries or LorainPublicLibrary org. Children earn a free book for four hours read and enter drawings for a grand prize inflatable rock wall or digital microscope. Teens earn a free book for five hours read with grand prize drawings and activities like Clue video games karaoke and a party. Adults also join with Groundbreaking Reads and local business donations. Juneteenth Bluesfest June 16 at Lakeview Park features blues bands readings Mahalia Jackson tribute and a motorcycle run benefitting Elyria YWCA shelters.
