NORTH RIDGEVILLE veterans of World War II marked a second annual ceremony with well over 1,000 attendees. Joe Boddy of Elyria hosted, referencing Gettysburg. Ridgeville High band in new royal blue and gold uniforms opened, followed by invocation by Rev Ralph Dessem. Boy Scouts raised the flag as the band played the national anthem. Flowers arranged around the monument and cenotaph honored fallen service members. Local groups presented a flag to the veterans, accepted by John Fritz. The Elyria Drum and Bugle Corps led the parade to St Peter's cemetery, then a firing salute closed the program. A large float titled May We Never Forget led the march.
