Rules Board Not Required To Rehire Returned Veteran
Attorney General Hugh S. Jenkins ruled that the Federal Selective Service law does not require a political subdivision to re employ a returned veteran. The decision arose from Ashtabula County prosecutor Roland Pontiae regarding an election board clerk who served in the military and whose office was declared vacant. The ruling adds the clerk cannot draw salary while in service, and does not affect Classified Civil Service rights. An election board clerk is not in the civil service class.

United States and world league faces ahead

Public support appears strong but divisions persist as Britain hesitates on monetary and military ties while other nations may lag in participation. The forecast warns of future storms and the danger of overmilitarization or delayed adoption impacting the league’s success.
