Amherst chorus blends Celtic tunes across three counties
The Amherst Community Chorus, in its 12th season, rehearses weekly at Amherst Junior High School and performs at fairs, festivals, and senior homes. The upcoming fall season includes a 60s hits program and a 30 minute Letters of Ireland medley with songs like Danny Boy. Amherst youths cited after tires slashed at school
Police report two 17 year olds Jordan Malinowski and Corey Yarmack cited for curfew violation and obstruction after rear tires were slashed at an Amherst Elementary School on the 800 block of South Main Street. In a separate incident Scott Fields was cited for no lights on a bicycle disorderly conduct and roadway intoxication after a weaving ride on North Lake Street. A man requested change for a hundred dollar bill and fled with five twenty dollar bills when the victim retrieved them from an ATM.
