Fay Co. opens new Lorain County shop at Sheffield Center
The Fay Co. will open its second Lorain County store tomorrow at the O'Neil-Sheffield Shopping Center in Sheffield Center. The Town and Country women’s wear shop will run a three day opening through Saturday featuring dresses coats suits and sportswear with a full specialty shop in women’s sportswear. Leon ard Wasserman co owner and local manager described the store as having redwood paneling air conditioning and a modern 60 by 50 foot floor. Erwin M. Schultz partner will manage the Broad St. Elyria store while Wasserman oversees the new location. Five new employees will be hired for the O Neil store.

Betty Horn and Diane Rahauser led a safety program at the Willing Worker 4H Club meeting held at the school. Mrs John Burke also spoke on safety. Ina Rae Dalton demonstrated finishing seams before 27 members enjoyed refreshments.

Pennsylvania Man Observes 102nd Birthday
Frederick Held of North Apollo celebrated his 102nd birthday in Pittsburgh area notes. He spends much time on his son Daniel's porch in a rocker. He recalls his long life with generally good health though hearing and eyesight faded slightly. He lived on a 192 acre farm until 30 years ago and has ten children, eight living. his wife died six years after their 68th anniversary.

Defiance Police Chief Fined for Failure to Yield
Defiance Police Chief C D Nestleroad was fined 10 dollars and costs after a Tuesday court decision on a failure to yield right of way charge. He was involved in a traffic crash last Saturday that injured him his wife and two children as per a state patrol filing.
