A special grand jury session is called to handle criminal cases since the last session in Jane. Prosecutor Jian We. Meers plans a special jury to clear five or more prisoners who would plead guilty. Ohio Forecast Brings Mostly Cloudy Skies And Thunder Showers

The Ohio forecast calls for mostly cloudy conditions with local thunderstorms tonight and in the southern portion Thursday, cooler Thursday and in the northern portion tonight. Yesterday's high was 106 in Phoenix and 108 in Des Moines with 102 in North Platte. Tonight's low in Calgary was 42 and in Edmonton 46. Indications show overcast skies and thundershowers then cooler weather late today or tonight. Fair and cooler weather is expected Thursday.

Sheriff Tom Park of Sandusky arranged six photos, aiding recognition after the Fremont Main street shooting that netted about $5,000. New Marriage License Law In Effect In Lorain County

Lorain County probate court resumed issuing marriage licenses under a new state rule requiring a five day interval between application and granting. The first license under the law went to John Nemet of Moundsville West Virginia and Mary Dano of Lorain, who applied July 23, the law’s effective date. The five day gap arose because applications on July 22 were granted that day while those on July 23 could not be issued until July 28. waivers are allowed if a couple shows a good reason.

Lloyd George Undergoes Severe Kidney Operation

London July 29 David Lloyd George Liberal leader and wartime premier, 68, underwent a major operation at his residence for kidney trouble. Lord Dawson of Penn led the procedure with Dr Howard Humphries and Dr J Swift Joly aiding. Condition considered satisfactory given operation severity. Nurses attended and an ambulance stood by in case transfer was needed.

A probate court jury awarded John Schaible 4400 for condemnation and damages to his property needed for a 150000 overhead bridge on Telegraph road. They valued his land at 650 and damages at 3750. Service Director J. N. Eldt reported that about 100 men received work slips to work off their water bills by employment with the city street department. The arrangement is open only to those unable to pay their bills.

Fire destroys Humphrey farm buildings near New London

A disastrous blaze at the Humphrey farm four miles southwest of New London destroyed the barn seven other structures while threshing. Loss estimated at 560,000. Straw hay and 15000 feet of lumber were consumed. Cause undetermined as flames swept from the blower and wind drove the fire. Fire department couldn't reach water in two cisterns. Partial insurance coverage noted.

Police Chief J. Stankard urged the public to check credentials of people taking subscriptions and orders for various articles. He warned some solicitors claim portions of funds go to charity, and advised presenting credentials and consulting police if any doubt arises.
