First Refrigerator Rolls Off GM Frigidaire Line
Dayton reports the first of 50,000 new Frigidaire refrigerators since 1942 rolled off the line with minimal witnesses. Plant leader John Kreuger’s 11 year old daughter observed as a bouquet was placed inside the seven cubic foot unit. Only plant officials, newsmen, and a small B 29 propeller crew witnessed the event as peacetime production resumed four months early. A separate Chicago note covers Dr Warren H Cole outlining layman first aid rules from a University of Illinois book by Cole and Col Ferris law.
