Avon Wins 600000 Grant for Chester Road Pedestrian Bridge
Avon receives a 600000 Transportation Enhancement Grant from NOACA to build a pedestrian bridge over the Avon overpass. Chester Road relocation, a 43 million project, uses 35 million federal highway funds with the city contributing 840769, while negotiations with landowners continue for parcels needed to realign the road. City Engineer Rob Knopf says the relocation will align Chester Road with Recreation Lane, attracting commercial development and easing traffic for future growth. Construction could start in spring.

Waters denies sexualized band culture claims at OSU
Waters rejects allegations of sexualized traditions in the band and says the culture is evolving. The university opened a federal Title IX probe after a parent complained about secrecy oaths, raunchy songs, a late night march, and nude or revealing attire. Investigators found staff and Waters attended events where nicknames and rough behavior occurred. Betty Montgomery leads a task force with EY and others to guide Title IX compliance. Waters joined the band as a sousaphone player and rose to interim director before his firing.
