Ohio Homeland Security grants aid Cleveland area

Ohio has received 493 million dollars in Homeland Security Grants since 2002 with the Cleveland area among the largest beneficiaries. Cuyahoga County agencies used funds for items from traffic cones to a bomb detonation robot, an electronic fingerprint system in jails, and cross jurisdiction radios. Officials say the spending was legitimate and targeted, not a shopping spree, while audits prompted tighter oversight and corrections of documentation.
