Elyria Police Chief Won’t Join Jail-n-Bail Fundraiser
Elyria Police Chief Rodger Griffith announced officers will not participate in the American Cancer Society Jail-n-Bail event on August 7 and 8 at the Holiday Inn Midway Mall Lorain. He cited complaints about mock arrests and intimidation during fundraising and noted only Elyria and Amherst departments joined last year. Lorain County Prosecutor Greg White called the move unfortunate but said offers of help from Amherst police and the sheriff’s department may offset the absence.
