Wagener Labor Act Attacked By A.F. of L.
Washington July 25 The American Federation of Labor and Rep Clare Hoffman attacked the National Labor Relations Board and its administration of the Wagner Act. They charged the board promoted the CIO and discouraged a united labor movement and maladministered the act, defeating practical democracy. Hoffman defied the board to stop him circulating a House speech. The CIO foe denounced a Muskin Skee Co ruling that distributing Hoffman's speech on company time violated the Wagner Act and warned such rulings could bar any employer or employee from sharing critical statements about the CIO or the board. He offered to furnish copies of his address at cost and asked the board to justify its powers to suppress criticism of Communists in labor.
