Rookie Andre Ribeiro Ruined By Cleveland Grand Prix Collision
Rookie Andre Ribeiro qualified fifth, but a late pace lap collision with Paul Tracy wrecked his race at the Cleveland Grand Prix. Tracy continued but retired with handling problems as Emerson and Christian Fittipaldi also exited. Attendance reached 67,077 for the day and 150,283 for the event. Bridgestone-Firestone and Goodyear tires underlined tire wars with Ribeiro and Scott Pruett among the day’s notable sufferers.
