In Oklahoma City voters faced rising prices and a charged atmosphere as the runoff primary reshaped all three of the state’s Republican representatives. The results saw Boren and Wickersham ousted by margin while Glen DP Johnson defeated Wickersham’s ally. Toby Morris won the Democratic gubernatorial nomination with Roy Katnes and Dixie Gilmer competing in Tulsa. Complete results show Turner leading with 191,063 votes and Gilmer with 116,985 across 70 percent of precincts.
