Governor Denies Inmate Clemeny Request In Ohio
Ohio Governor Bob Taft denied the clemency request of Richard Covey, a 36 year old inmate condemned for raping and killing two sorority sisters near Akron. The Ohio Parole Board, in a unanimous ruling, upheld the death sentence and cited his minimized remorse and adequate representation. Covey faces execution by injection Thursday as appeals proceed in two state courts.
