Ohio Farm Bureau Seeks TVA Electric Power for Ohio
The Ohio Farm Bureau announced plans to urge Congress to route TVA electric power from Norris Dam to Ohio to aid rural electrification. James R. Moore, bureau publicity director, said the move follows a trustees meeting. Rankin urged a TVA line to Ohio, claiming rates would drop 59 to 75 percent. If built, a 300 to 350 mile line would reach Columbus and southern borders of Hancock, Putnam, and Crawford counties, aiding REA distribution and farm use.
