Smaller turnpike toll hikes called
The Ohio Turnpike Commission may spread out or scale back a 62 percent toll increase after a Friday meeting with state Senator W. Scott Oelslager. Chairman Umberto Fedeli defended the approval process, while Oelslager urged restraint and warned about truck drivers using alternate routes. The first 10 percent rise took effect July 1 to fund new lanes Toledo to Youngstown costing over 400 million dollars.
