Jogger Jim Fixx dies of heart attack in Vermont
Vermont authorities report Jim Fixx 52, author of The Complete Book of Running, collapsed and died of a heart attack while jogging near Caspian Lake in Hardwick Vermont. Autopsy cited serious heart disease with two blocked arteries. Fixx, a Greenwich Connecticut resident and Oberlin College alum, was renowned for promoting running and fitness through lectures and his best selling book.
