Stanadyne Corp calls back 125 workers
Stanadyne Corp in Elyria called back about 125 workers from short layoffs this summer including five back this week. Union leader Robert Burnside of UAW Local 101 says the outlook looks fairly good through part of August, though future layoffs may hit the steel production section due to weak steel demand from the recession. Frank Mann confirms callbacks but warns the improvement may be short lived as the company tracks inventories and housing-industry recovery week by week.
