Firm Slow In Producing Needed Arms
The Air Force told House investigators an urgent contract for 300000 air to ground rocket launchers is 73000 behind schedule. Brig. Gen. Clyde H. Mitchell said shortages hamper Air Force planes and only 19788 of 100000 launchers were delivered by July 15 under a $36.62 million Century Industries contract. Current production runs about 1000 per day.
