Rotary club funds inclusive playground for Elyria
The Elyria Rotary Club raised 350000 to fund Elyria’s first inclusive playground in Cascade Park. Chair Greg Kruszka said the target matched the final amount raised by 110 members with about 1000 per member in personal donations. The rock and water themed playground will serve children of all abilities.

Elyria man pleads guilty in March robbery case
Jany Mack twenty of Middle Avenue pleaded guilty to an amended indictment of receiving stolen property with a firearms specification mandating a one year prison term. The May Lorain County grand jury had indicted Mack on aggravated robbery three counts and receiving stolen property. other charges were dismissed. Mack was arrested March 22 with a 9 mm handgun in a parking lot on Fowl Road. a sun stolen from Franklin County was linked to the case.

Police seek Elyria man who walked away from hospital furlough
Elyria man Robert Beane III, 27, remains at large after leaving Lorain County Hospital during a medical furlough from Lorain County Jail. Beane was arrested on a secret indictment for kidnapping, aggravated robbery, felonious assault, weapons while under disability, and theft, with multiple firearm and repeat offender specifications. A warrant was issued after his arraignment, but he has not been located. bond for his other charges was reinstated.
