Woman found dead in trunk in Darke County case

Linnea Satterfield, 56, was found dead in the trunk of a 2001 Buick LeSabre after Elyria police say ex-boyfriend Roy E Owens Jr. kidnapped her Monday. Owens faced aggravated murder and felonious assault warrants after a car crash near Greenville, with deputies locating the body and preparing autopsy.

Lorain Schools CEO finalists tied to search firm founder

Four of the five Lorain School District CEO finalists share ties with Joseph Wise, co founder of Atlantic Research Partners, the firm that narrowed the field from 37 applicants. Atlantic Research Partners President Jim Hager refused to release the remaining 32 applications citing private firm status. Randleman sentenced to 33 years to life in Dukes murder

Devonte Randleman received a 33 years to life prison term from Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Christopher Rothgery for the Aug. 5 shooting death of Stephen Antonio Dukes. The defendant argued as the judge pressed him about naming a second participant, insisting the judge framed the case. The exchange led to a tense courtroom moment before the sentence was imposed.

Collision claims life of public servant

Lorain County public service figure Fred Alspach, 70, died after a collision on North Main Street in Wellington at 7 10 a m. Rodney Haswell 51 was turning left onto Kelly Street when his vehicle struck Alspach driver of a southbound Honda Helix scooter. Haswell uninjured. Investigation ongoing no charges filed. Alcohol or drugs not suspected. Alspach known for involvement in Wellington Lorain County and Lorain County Metro Parks.
