Winners announced in 4-H Inside The Home Demonstration Contest
Fourteen 4-H members from Lorain County earned top honors in junior and senior divisions at Lorain County Fairgrounds Wellington. Darcy Neher and Linda Zech led individual junior and senior contests, with teams including Michele Bors Iris Terrell Elyria Lorain and Vernon Sherrill Lisa Dant LaGrange. A total of 60 4-H'ers competed, with eight entrants advancing to the Ohio State Fair.

National co op official to address LMRE annual meeting
National Rural Electric Cooperative Association official Charles A. Robinson will speak at the Lorain Medina Rural Electric Cooperative annual meeting August 3 at 1 pm at LMRE headquarters on West Road. Three trustees will be elected to three year terms. Incumbents Gary Rowland Justin Gordon and Roy Ropp were nominated for the director seats.

More than one hundred municipal judges attended the Ohio Municipal Judges Association summer meeting in Akron to learn stress management and health strategies. Dr. Alan McLean of IBM discussed individual responses to stress, noting there is no simple fix. A judge joked about sending someone to jail to relieve tension after a break during a stressful segment.
