Area residents faced a sizzling Friday as near 94 degree heat sparked a medical emergency. Donald Manilla, 49, of 25 Beaver Park Lorain, remained in critical condition at St. hospital after an incident attributed to heat stroke.

Five Car Crash Leaves Heat-Stricken Man Critical
A heat-stricken man is in critical condition after a five car crash at the corner of Colorado and East Erie in Lorain. Police say Manilla, westbound on East Erie, lost control after a stroke, sideswiped a car and caused two vehicles to rear end others. Man killed as boat hits breakwall near Cedar Point
SANDUSKY AP report says 57 year old George E Ritchey NT died when his 16 foot fiberglass craft rammed a breakwall at Cedar Point Marina in Sandusky Bay. Investigators suspect Ritchey had a heart attack or seizure before the crash. the boat was found with throttle full ahead and Ritchey’s body located about 55 feet from the vessel.
