Carlisle residents protest alleged landfill dumping on Walker Drive
About 20 Walker Drive area residents attended the Carlisle Township board meeting to claim illegal dumping at a private landfill owned by Lorne Elbert. They accuse trucks of dumping fly ash tires and other refuse, causing dust and damage while Elbert says only building materials are deposited. EPA had checked the landfill three times, and trustees note they can regulate but not prohibit dumping without proof of non-regulation materials.
