Rural water adds storage with three new tanks
Rural Lorain County Water Authority moves toward doubling storage to 4.15 million gallons as three new tanks and automatic controls are installed. Bonds fund the expansion to meet 100 gallons per person storage standard for 40,000 residents, easing drought and line-break stress. Two 16 inch lines, two 750,000 gallon tanks, and one 500,000 gallon elevated tank bolster pressure and permit limited expansion within current boundaries. Grafton residents may see water main breaks or discolored water as a 300,000 gallon tank is filled. report breaks to village officials and run faucets to clear discolored water.
