Lorain utilities committee tentatively approves a second water tap for Sheffield Lake to support a $250 000 water system upgrade. Agreement on rate increases and a storage tank contract with Lorain remains to be set by the solicitor.
Lorain officials heard Employees Lines Inc plan a modern franchise draft for council by November 1. Adelbert Pollock said the firm is contacting bus lines for franchise copies and will negotiate before the current contract expires in February. The committee tabled action until after October 15 to allow continued study and potential outreach to other firms.
Miss Rosalyn Hooker daughter of Mr and Mrs Donald Hooker of Wakeman was honored at a miscellaneous bridal shower given by Mrs Elmer Morgan of Camden. She will wed Neil Whitney of Camden on August 16. The event featured many lovely and useful gifts.
