Miller a famed abolitionist lineage from Hinckley farm

A 19th century abolitionist hero, known as Nigger Miller, is remembered at a LaPorte gathering. The event honors his life aiding enslaved people, conducting lectures, and sheltering runaways with underground network ties to Garrison, Wendell Phillips, and John Brown. Attendees include local officials and descendants. The gathering anticipates a Miller farm reunion next year with plans to mark the site for visitors.
