Falls drowning victim found off Vermilion near Lake Erie

The body of 19 year old Cuyahoga Falls youth Jerry M Edwards who drowned Thursday was found Sunday in Lake Erie near Ruggles Beach four miles west of Vermilion by a boater. He had been missing since falling into the lake while rafting with two friends. His companions Jack Dutch er and James Clayton were unaware of the fall as the men rafted separately. A Marble head Coast Guard Station spokesman said the search was hampered by incorrect information from the Erie County Sheriff's Department about where Edwards was rafting. The Coast Guard had searched for about eight hours Thursday before suspending the effort. The search resumed Friday.
