Off the Korean east coast the destroyer Orleck halted a 20 car train carrying flanks guns and ammunition by derailing the last car and blasting 14 cars of ammunition and five heavy artillery pieces. Two Levies Planned for Ballot by County Commissioners
County commissioners approved two resolutions to place levies on November ballots. A one mill levy for two years would fund Lorain County Agricultural Society improvements at the Well ington fairgrounds, about 700 000 dollars. A half mill for two years would fund Pleasant View Sanatorium operations, about 175 000 dollars annually. Hale Schriber of Olmsted Falls was injured about the hip and elbow in a two car crash at Route 82 and Route 252 in Columbia Station at 5 15 last evening. His car collided with a vehicle driven east on Route 82 by John Gilbert Dunn of Strongsville. The fronts of both cars were damaged.

President Truman Admitted For Checkup At Walter Reed

Drinking Driver Is Injured When Car Hits Truck
Wilbur Browand, RD 1 Wellington, suffered a deep laceration below his left eye and possible leg injuries when his car crashed into the rear of Darwin Meadows's truck at the Middle avenue and 16th street intersection. Browand was found intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of .18 and charged with driving while intoxicated. He was listed in fair condition at Elyria Memorial Hospital after ten stitches were applied.
