Glitch at Oberlin Center Triggers Detroit Flight Delays
A computer upgrade at the Cleveland Air Route Traffic Control Center in Oberlin caused about 10 flights to be delayed by roughly 11 minutes each after 6 a.m. Monday in Detroit. Controllers returned to the old system while planning tools also failed but without safety impact. The Oberlin facility handles about 3 million operations yearly across 70k square miles including parts of Ohio Michigan New York Pennsylvania West Virginia and Lake Erie.

De Beers pleads guilty in price-fixing case
De Beers admitted conspiring to fix prices in the $500 million industrial diamond market in 1991 and 1992 and agreed to pay up to $10 million. The plea clears the way for selling directly in the U.S. market. US District Judge George Smith accepted the plea and noted a civil settlement of $26 million resolved restitution. The case also involved General Electric, later dropped.
