How We Bought a House in South Florida
A humorous memoir style piece details a couple’s failed budget approach to buying a home in South Florida. The narrator describes avoidance of sales pressure, odd spending habits, and the discovery of new mortgage “wrinkles” from the 70s era, including points and assorted settlement fees. Beth’s quest leads them outside their price range in pursuit of a dream home with a basketball hoop and fiberglass backboard.
