Hair producer to surrender on narcotics charges in California
Michael Butler, producer of the rock musical Hair, agreed to surrender to charges of illegally growing opium poppies at his Montecito estate in Santa Barbara. Deputies found a 50 by 100 foot poppy field with 3,000 plants plus cocaine hashish and marijuana. Two men at the estate were arrested. Butler was not home during the raid. The District Attorney said Butler would surrender with his attorneys today.
