Online auction yields unknown buyer for Midway Mall
Elyria mayor notes more details including the buyer are expected in coming weeks after an online auction for Midway Mall ended at noon with a final bid of 4.25 million. The listing showed no owner and by Wednesday afternoon details were removed with a notice stating the property is in escrow and auction details will be released after escrow closes. County Auditor Craig Snodgrass says the auctioneer will handle the next steps.

Suspects Arrested After Vehicle Theft Pursuit Ends in North Ridgeville
A 17 year old male was arrested after a pursuit of a stolen vehicle ending in North Ridgeville. An 18 year old, described as an black male in an orange sweatshirt and black jeans, remained at large. Police used helicopters and dogs to search and the suspect was treated for a dog bite at University Hospitals St. John Medical Center. The car tied to aggravated robberies at Subway Little Caesars and Papa John s was stopped on Lorain Road area. The two fled. a high powered 9 mm pistol was found in the vehicle.

Lengthening Route 254 designation considered by county
Former transportation activist Bob Wickens urged Lorain County commissioners to extend state Route 254 from its eastern terminus at Route 57 in eastern Sheffield Township west to Route 58 in Lorain. He noted the road confusion as Detroit Road becomes North Ridge Road and Cooper Foster Park Road beyond the current end. Commissioners did not act but appeared receptive.
