Westlake approves widening Bassett Road section project
Westlake's Streets and Roads Committee chose to widen Bassett Road from 16 to 20 feet and resurface it with full depth asphalt at a total cost of 587651 dollars funded entirely by the city. The plan, in the Ashford Estates area near St. Ladislaus School, will be done alongside sanitary sewer installation and no local assessment will be charged. City engineer Joseph Schaller said the widening meets the minimal required width. Councilman Michael Killeen stated the upgrade benefits road users rather than residents.
