Lorain County reports Gregory Down, 13 month old son of Donald and Mrs Down of 5295 Orchard, in City Hospital believed to have poliomyelitis. He fell ill Wednesday and was referred to Cleveland hospital. he is the second Lorain County child with polio this week, after Philip Stamco, 9, son of George and Mrs Stamco of 2230 East 35th Street.

Employee Of G. M. Plant At Elyria Killed In Korea
Pfc. Daniel Ray Buck, formerly with the Brown Lipe Chapin plant in Elyria, was killed in Korea on June 19 after being drafted in 1950. Wellington families learned of his death, marking him as the first local resident reported killed in action in Korea. A native of Emlenton, Pa, he lived with his brother Arnold at the Dudley Apartments before entering service and had been in Korea for months. He is survived by Arnold, Carl of Penfield, his mother Mrs. John Raybuck of Emlenton, and three brothers who served in World War II.

Man Rescued After 32 Hours In Stormy Sea
Ted Sierks a 49 year old camera man from Catalina Island was plucked from the Pacific 830 miles northeast of Honolulu after 32 hours in the water. He spent the time fighting choppy seas and defending himself from sharks until the USS Munro rescued him. He recovered in good condition and told crew members of his ordeal and survival.
