Thoughts on New York City Figures and Fading Stars
A mosaic of New York cultural glimpses lists Hal Skelly, Margaret Sullavan, Clark Gable, Jimmy Savo, Cobina Wright, and others. Notes on Central Park, Fifth Avenue, and outfits mix with reminiscences of actors, humorists, and a longshore of show business anecdotes from the era. A curious closing anecdote recalls a tragic subway accident intertwined with a theatre scene.
