How much is a new college graduate worth
A Philadelphia based consulting firm finds that new graduates expect starting salaries mainly between 20 000 and 30 000 with 41 percent aiming for 20 000 to 25 000 and 29 percent for 25 000 to 30 000. Four of five expect promotions within five years with about a quarter aiming within one to two years. The piece notes graduates often overestimate value and responsibility, and quotes Temple University psychologist Jim Smith on realistic expectations and the need for competent leadership.
