Lorain man charged in attempted abduction of 5 year old
Two Lorain girls testified in Municipal Court that a man tried to grab their 5 year old cousin on E 34th Street and Clifton Avenue. The suspect Joseph Johns 37 pleaded innocent and is bound over to the grand jury. He is jailed on a 25000 cash bond. Johns is on parole for sexual battery involving an 11 year old and began a prior sentence in 1986. The incident occurred while the 5 year old was with two sisters aged 7 and 8 and their father intervened with a scuffle before police were called.
