Man Dies After Being Found Unconscious Near School
A Sheffield Lake man Barry Holley 24 of 690 Harris Rd died in Lorain St. Joseph Hospital at 2 55 am after being found unconscious near St. Thomas School entrance. Police seek cause of death and question what happened between midnight and 5 am. Holley left home at midnight walked his dog and was found by a patrolman the next morning. Investigators examine clothing and gravel for evidence as they consider a fall from the roof of the school. He was a Ford inspector and Lorain Assembly Plant softball player and was survived by his wife and parents with several siblings. Burial planned in Milton West Virginia.

Secret indictments arrest two Lorain County suspects
A Lorain man and a Sheffield Lake youth were arrested on grand jury secret indictments charging narcotics offenses. Victor Dearmas, 34, faced four charges including illegal possession for sale and keeping a house for narcotics. Jerry Lloyd, 30, was charged with illegal sale of hallucinogens and maintaining a house for their sale. Russell Schmidt, 54, of Lorain, died yesterday morning of an apparent heart attack after a fall at home. he served in WWII, survived by wife Phyllis and three sons, a daughter, and several siblings. Memorial services were set for later. burial at Elmwood Cemetery, with DAV rites. Graveside services for Olive Hoffman, 80, of Delray Beach, Fla., were planned at Elmwood Cemetery. she had lived in Florida since 1944 and was survived by a son and a daughter. An 18 year old Elyria youth, Lonnie J. Sturdivant, remained in serious condition after a Saturday crash on Quarry Road when a car driven by friend Houston Thacker, 16, without a license, crossed a railroad crossing and overturned. Thacker suffered minor injuries and was cited for driving without a license. A 16 year old female passenger was not injured. The southbound, high speed car left the roadway at the Amherst Township crossing and flipped onto its top.

Elyria Woman Injured After One Car Crash Into Edison Building
A year-old Elyria woman, Mrs. Francis Jagusch, was injured when her car jumped the curb and struck an Ohio Edison Co. service building at 6326 Lake Avenue, traveling about 150 feet before stopping. She was listed in fair condition at Elyria Memorial Hospital. Her 20-year-old husband Herman, a hospital patient with minor injuries, was released after treatment. Deputies said the southbound car went out of control and collided with the building before turning to face north.
