Amherst to Add Second Booster Pump to Improve Water Pressure
Amherst officials enlist engineer Ray Fuller and Robert Martin to install a second booster pump on the 10 inch main. Friction loss from sediment reduces flow to about 200000 gallons daily. Readings at the Elyria plant and on a pressure recorder will determine the required pump size. A later plan may include cleaning the main as tests continue. City utilities committee review of a water rate ordinance was postponed due to member absence.
